Happy Birthday Rivers!

Rivers is 1 month old today! The past month has flown by- partly due to exhaustion, but mostly due to elation! It has been an amazing month- and he has already changed and grown so much. It has been such a joy getting to know him and to watch him and his little expressions everyday. I know with each passing month there will be many more new and exciting things happening with him. He has his next pediatrician appointment this week, so I'm anxious to see how big he has gotten since we were there last.
Here are just a couple pictures I snapped today. With the suggestion of guess who (Rivers' father) we put the drum next to him for a size reference. He was ok with it I guess...

Then we tried the teddy bear, which I've had since I was a little girl. He wasn't especially excited about it, as you can see...

And here he is in his birthday suit! He had just finished his bath, which he's really taken a liking to, so he was in a great mood! I love his big smile and was so excited that I was able to catch it in this picture!

Happy Birthday to Me

Today is my 26th birthday. This year for the first time ever, today wasn't just about me. And believe it or not, I was okay with that. We had a nice lazy day. Jeremy and I did nothing except be lazy and take care of Rivers. Uneventful, yes but it will be an unforgettable birthday. I had planned on getting a "birthday picture" of Rivers and I today, but my laziness just didn't allow it. This picture was taken 7/31 of Rivers and I in our matching tie dye! I did, however, manage to take this cute picture of all my boys napping together today.


Rivers is doing well, aside from his fussiness today. He had another pediatrician appointment this past week on Thursday. He was exactly 2 weeks old and was weighed again. He now weighs 8 lbs. 12 oz. He has gained a whole pound in 2 weeks! If you didn't believe me before, I'm sure you do now when I say he's a milk monster!

6 days old

I'm just now getting around to posting these...sorry, but there isn't as much time for blogging these days. Anyway, Laurie came over for another photo session with Rivers when he was 6 days old. Here are a few of the awesome pics she was able to get. He changed so much just in that short amount of time from birth to 6 days.
