the way we were

rivers is so busy these days! he is now growing 5 teeth. he has 2 on the bottom and 2 on the top that have popped through and now he has another coming through on the top. he has really taken off with eating solids- he now thinks that anytime i have food, he should too. he's like a little baby bird- he comes in for a landing as soon as he sees food on my plate. he can run around the house now (as long as he's holding onto your fingers)! he can walk holding just 1 hand, but he doesn't like to, and will get mad at me if i make him. its kind of funny though b/c he can walk perfectly well, he would just rather do it holding 2 hands. he said his first official word last week- "duck"! we read "barnyard bath" every night in the tub and one night he pointed to it and said "duck"! it was SO exciting! he is becoming a big copy cat. he will mimic dog, cow, mama, dada. we've also started trying to lay some boundaries. when he's crawling towards the animals water dish i'll make an "ugh, ugh, ugh" sound, which he now understands means no. sometimes he cries, but usually he mimics me and goes for it anyway! i'm worried he may be stubborn like his mama! so its been an exciting month for us. lots of new milestones! we're beginning to think about his 1st birthday. we'll be doing the party 1 month from today. i can't believe it!
