it was around this time that last year that i was finally able to hold my newborn baby for the first time. he was born at 6:30 in the morning, but i had to be put back together, stitched up, and lay in post op for 2 hours before they would let me see him. finally, i was wheeled to the nursery where rivers and i met for the first time. it was a moment i'll never forget and made the whole journey so worth it!
