the way we were

i have failed to mention on here for quite some time just how amazing my son is. ;) not only does rivers know every letter in the alphabet and can count to 13, but he is now able to spell a handful of words. and even more amazing - he can spell backwards! (truthfully, i'm not sure if i should be amazed by this or worried, but let's just roll with it for now.) he can spell: dog, cat, stop (usually backwards), fox, kids (i just realized this one yesterday, and yes, he spelled it backwards), cup, mama, dada, and baby. sometimes he will go up to jasper and just say, "D. O. G." and sometimes its "G. O. D." anywhere we go, he is all about the letters. we go to food lion - he spells it out. we go to toys r us - he spells it out. driving the road, he sees a sign - starts spelling it out. we go to old navy - he spells it out. we were there this past weekend and people were actually stopping to watch him identify the letters and couldn't believe it! i wouldn't be surprised if my son is in the national spelling bee one day. in fact, he'll probably be reading the dictionary by this time next year! ;)
