i had a full day of sessions. ended up with 7 mini sessions at our house this morning, then 2 mini's at the park, and a full family session this evening. i'm pooped. but thankful. so thankful to be busy with work.
my first mini session this morning was at 9:30. two little girls came over with their mommy. my boys were heading out, so rivers met them in the driveway. i witnessed the cutest conversation ever between rivers and the older little girl.
rivers: "hi, what's your name?"
little girl: "natalie"
rivers: "hi natalie, it's nice to meet you. how are you today?"
natalie: "i'm good. what's your name?"
rivers: "rivers. how old are you?"
natalie: "hi rivers. i'm six and my baby sister is one. how old are you?"
rivers: "i'm four and my baby sister is still growing. if you put your hand on my mommy's belly you might feel her kick!"
{both proceed to put their hands on my belly - so cute!}
natalie: "i felt her kick!" {baby didn't really kick, but it was precious anyway!}
the kiddos said their good-byes as it was time for rivers & jeremy to leave. i was swelled with pride to watch my polite & courteous boy interact with a big six year old. he really is amazing.
tonight during bath time, i reminded rivers of the little girl & their conversation this morning. he remembered. i told him how proud i was of him & how awesome i thought it was that he was so welcoming & friendly. he said, "yes, that is called grace & curtesy. we talk about that at school all the time." he had the biggest smile on his face. knowing how proud i was, he asked if i would share it with daddy. i told him of course i would & that he would be just as proud. {he is!}
not kidding when i say it brings tears to my eyes. jeremy & i agree, that alone makes every dollar spent on montessori well worth it. i love that life lessons are just as much a part of the curriculum as the regular subjects. rivers is doing awesome with reading, writing, math, and geography, but more importantly, he's polite, friendly, and kind hearted. i am one proud mama.
